Couples Energy Work

The wounds we carry from our early years present themselves for healing in our partnerships. Left unattended, we may find ourselves moving from relationship to relationship, further wounding our own hearts, and the hearts of those around us.

A committed partnership is the perfect place to be seen and felt in our imperfect wholeness - allowing ourselves to be vulnerable, open, honest, scared, excited, held, nurtured, and loved. When given the space to truly see and feel what our loved one needs in order to thrive with an open heart, we can grow a healthy bond that nourishes and heals, letting dysfunctional patterns of relating fall away.

A Couples Energy Session looks a bit different from traditional couples therapy. It may involve talk of attachment theory, inner child work, communication styles, the emotions and narratives at play in the relationship, what has worked and what hasn't so far. All sessions will involve energetic readings of the couple as a unit, as well as individually while in the session, allowing each partner to see and feel on a deeper level what is needed to move past their current struggles.

Couples therapy can be more powerful than individual work because of the need we all have for intimate connection, and the ability to heal the wounds we all carry through the loving connection of another vulnerable human. No one makes it to adulthood unscathed, but we can help each other grow through and past whatever traumas have affected our ability to be the open loving partner we desire. The ripples from this growth are unstoppable.

My husband and I had gotten into a terrible place where we were unable to see eye to eye, or even hear one another. Marriage can be hard, and we had gotten ourselves into a negative cycle we just couldn’t shake. Cheri has been an amazing tool in building our bond once more. She has been able to feel what each of us are feeling and able to help us communicate those feelings in a way we both understand. She is the steady calm that has helped us to remember how to communicate. She has been able to hold space for each of us in turn, so we can truly hear, understand and be receptive to one another. She has helped me, in particular to understand my part in this lousy cycle we are in, which has helped me to let go and forgive myself, as well as my husband- which has brought huge relief to us both. We have put in so much time and effort, over and over, to try to find a way through this rough patch. We were really stuck. Cheri has been a true gift in helping us to finally get over that sticky patch.

Disclaimer: Though I was previously a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I did not maintain my license during the years I was a full time mother. I do not feel licensure is necessary in order to help people from my heart (the state of Idaho agrees), but if you feel differently then we may not be a good fit.
